About Us

Honoring Ira

The Foundation honors the memory of Ira Sohn, a talented Wall Street professional whose life was cut short when he passed away from cancer at the age of 29. In 1995, Ira’s friends Douglas Hirsch, Lance Laifer and Daniel Nir, along with Ira’s mother Judith Sohn and brother Evan, created The Sohn Conference Foundation.

Our Mission

The Sohn Conference Foundation is dedicated to the treatment and cure of pediatric cancer and other childhood diseases. The Foundation supports cutting-edge medical research, state-of-the-art research equipment, and innovative programs to ensure children with cancer survive and thrive.

Our Conferences

Wall Street’s best and brightest gather once a year to participate in The Sohn Investment Conference in Partnership with CNBC.
The Conference provides an opportunity to hear Flagship Speakers who manage large proprietary investment portfolios that have outperformed the market year after year.

While they do not typically share their insights in any public forum, they do so at The Sohn Investment Conference which makes this a must-attend event for the portfolio managers, asset allocators, and private investors alike. In addition to the Flagship Speakers, Next Wave Sohn features rising starts in the financial community who present their best ideas for an actionable investment.

All contributions support The Foundation’s mission to support pediatric cancer research and care.

In addition to New York, Sohn Conferences around the globe bring together the investment community in a powerful and impactful way to benefit charity.
